Caster Terminology

 

	Wheel Diameter		is the most standard measurement used in measuring casters.
	Caster wheels		for antique furniture are most often made of brass, porcelain and wood
	Caster Stems		are measured diameter x height
	Raises Furniture		is the height the furniture will be raised above the floor
	Caster Load Capacity		is determined by the size of the complete caster, the wheel diameter and width and the the material the caster is made of. Load capacities are calculated differently: some determine it while the caster is moving others while the caster is stationary. We cannot provide load capacity standards as there are many factoring variables and there is no industry standards for the antique style casters. Our casters are quality reproduction casters designed to be used on furniture. They are very serviceable under normal conditions. As with all antique casters they are made for occasional rolling.

Claw Feet and Toe Sockets

	Old Claw Feet Toe Sockets		Finding the exact replacement claw feet or toe sockets can be problematic. Many styles were made over the years - not all are reproduced.
	Measuring for Claw Feet Toe Sockets		Claw Feet and Toe Sockets are intended to fit snuggly as a result we provide the inside measurements of: Top Width, Height, Bottom Width, Bottom Length enabling you to select the best fit. These measurements should be just slightly larger than the actual furniture feet.
