Using Lamp Burners

Some oil lamp burners use the same collar opening size however they are not interchangeable. Thread sizes for different types of burners vary therefore the type of collar and the threaded collar opening must match. Chart below is for both oil and electrified lamp burners. A proper fit between collar and burner is important to reduce the risk of fire.

Shade Holders for glass lamp shades
Tripod, ring, and ball shade holders should fit snuggly on lamp burner to properly hold shade. Harps are most often used to support silk, linen and parchment lamp shades.
 

Light bulbs are sized by the base. Standard is the most common size used on all types of lamps.
