Reflector Floor Lamps
Vintage 3-Arm Reflector Floor Lamps
are a favorite floor lamp of the 1900's. 2 light sources are offered: a center mogul bulb and 3 candle arms each
with a bulb. Typically lamps have a switch allowing the 3 arms to work independently of the center light or
both can be used together providing up to 600 watts of light. 2 lamp shades
are used on this type of floor lamp. A
reflector shade
goes on first. It sits in shade holder and is secured with 3 set screws. This reflector shade directs the light
from the mogul bulb upward. A second large lamp shade, often silk, sits on top the reflector shade. It should be 20" bottom
diameter shade is often used, care should be taken so that this shade is large enough to allow good air circulation
around the outside 3 candle arms.
It may seem unusual for a lamp to have 2 shades however this second shade completes the appearance of
the vintage reflector floor lamp and softens the very bright light provided by the mogul bulb and 3 arms.
These lamps are an excellent light source.
