New U.L. listings recommend SPT-2 lamp cord for table and floor lamps as it has heavier outside plastic covering then traditional SPT-1 lamp wire. This may make it harder to slip 1/8 IP pipe when rewiring antique lamps. General purpose SPT-2 lamp cord, #18-2, 105 degree, rated 300 volt.
