Japanned Lift Lid Locks are used on blanket chests, tool boxes and large boxes. This is a reproduction style from the 19th century with a traditional matte black Japanned finish. The half mortise style requires the lock to be mortised into interior of the box. Strike is attached to underside of lift lid. Use keyhole cover to decoratively trim front of chest. Made In England
