Antique Cabinet Latches fasten cupboard doors. These vintage catches were originally used in the 1800's and early 1900's. They were often found on dry sinks, jelly cupboards, pie safes and country furniture. Antique cabinet latches are authentic copies. There are two basic types: catches that attach to interior of cabinets and catches that mount to exterior. Interior types attach inside cabinet. These are not seen on closed doors. Place exterior cabinet latches on door front. These catches include cupboard door turns, iron furniture catches, to brass H latches. Choose brass, nickel or iron. Furniture styles commonly dictate the type latch needed.
