Insert Escutcheons with lipped-edge, stamped brass

Insert Escutcheons with lipped-edge make great replacements on vintage furniture. They are somewhat pliable when installing. Rounded rim rolls over outside edge of keyhole cutout, hiding previous damage sometimes seen around old keyholes. Provides a tidy appearance.

• Width: 1/2"
• Height: 3/4"
• Depth: 3/16"
• Key-bit Height must be less than: 9/16"

This insert is stamped brass enabling slight movement when installing. The finish is polished but not lacquered, over time it will age.

Install Insert Escutcheon

• Determine location for Keyhole placement
• Precisely trace the exterior outline of escutcheon portion that will insert into wood surface using a sharp pencil.
• Remove keyhole interior using a drill and files
• Test fit, ideally should be snug but not tight.
• Refine cutout with sandpaper if necessary
• Fit into place, epoxy can be used to secure keyhole if necessary.
